Trading the US Equity Market Indexes is great because of the strong long-term upwards bias. As a "mostly" long-only trader, one of the bigger challenges I have had historically is identifying those rare times that there is significant confluence across several metrics to get heavily defensive. These times are rare, and also can be difficult to identify. I am sharing many of the metrics I have found to be the most useful for this.
