Nikka Miyagikyo Peated (750Ml)

Founded in the Miyagi prefecture of Japan in 1969 by Masataka Taketsuru, Miyagikyo Distillery was the second distillery to Nikka Japanese Whiskey. The first being located in Yoichi, Taketsuru set out to craft a Single Malt which contrasted at the Miyagikyo distillery. Using the different natural environments and production methods, Nikka produced a range of single malt expressions which stand out against their previous counterparts. Miyagikyo malts from Nikka are elegant, with a light fruity character. They're made from lightly peated and non-peated malted barley and distilled using indirect steam express in pot stills. Nikka Miyagikyo Peated is a 2021 limited edition crafted in honor of Nikka’s 90th Anniversary. Also the first in the “Nikka Discovery” series, this whiskey and its successors are meant to offer an inside look at the experiments and refinement of processes Nikka has developed and practiced over the years. Soley crafted from peated batches, Miyagikyo Peated distinguishes itself from the light and fruity image ascribed to Miyagikyo. Bold and peated, this Japanese whiskey leaves their signature fruity hint in the lingering finish.
