Knitted Copper Condenser Packing 125mm Wide - Per Meter

Efficient packing for sulphur reduction and improved fractioning in reflux condensers and columns.

Knitted copper mesh dramatically increases surface area within the column, and increases reflux action. Copper surfaces actively bind and remove volatile sulphur compounds (including hydrogen sulphide and dimethyl sulphide), significantly reducing off-aromas and improving spirit quality. The high surface area of knitted copper packing maximises this catalytic and adsorptive effect, making it particularly valuable in spirit production where sulphur reduction is essential.

Knitted construction also promotes even vapour flow while maintaining sufficient open area to minimise pressure drop. We do not recommend tightly over-packing columns, as excessive density can increase pressure drop and risk flooding. Ensure adequate vapour path.

One meter of copper mesh weighs approximately 35 grams and is sufficient for packing approximately 20cm of a 2" column.
