Jet took the quality a notch higher on this model by putting a graphite sheet on the belt platen, keeping the temperature down and extending belt life. Tracking is sometimes tricky with belt sanders, so we're glad to see the single tracking adjustment knob and the quick-lock handle that keeps the belt from wandering. Changing belts is a snap--just release the belt tension lever. The 4-inch dust port accepts a standard dust-collection system hose and draws from both sanders, keeping the mess out of your shop and your lungs. The 3/4-horsepower motor runs the belt sander at 2258 rpm and the disc at 1725 rpm, enough to handle big jobs without bogging down.
