• Details:  This is a delightful decorative plate from the "Dream Machine", Limited Edition Collection, by Delphi.  This is the First in the series, tiled: " '56 T-Bird".  It is a Registered Collector's Plate, Bradex #84-D19-2.1, License Plate #2032D.  We love everything about this plate, the iconic car, the vibrant colors, the wonderful artwork!  The Bradford Exchange is a company that produces collector plates, and Delphi was one of their brands (the brand was discontinued in the early to mid 2000's). The Ford Thunderbird was dreamed up by two Ford Motor Co executives: George Walker and Louis D. Crusoe, in response to the growing popularity of sports cars. This idea was pursued by the company who decided to pursue a “true Ford sports car” for their 1955 model year.  The 1956 model featured a V-8 engine, overhead valves, and a 3-speed automatic transmission.
