Common Name: Cuphea Annagalloidea

Often misnamed and mixed-up with Rotala sp "Araguaia" or Bacopa sp "Red", this small but high maintenance stem plant is quite new in the community, having only been introduced in the last decade. Most species of the Genus Cuphea are terrestrial not many are aquatic, and the Cuphea Annagalloidea would be the first plant under the Cuphea genus to be cultivated in an aquarium setting. Depending on whether or not is grown submerged or immersed, as well as it's environment conditions, this plant will grow somewhat small to medium leaves whose colors will vary from lighter shades to eye-striking reds to oranges. If you're looking to achieve a bright red pigment, you must provide it with high lighting.

We would recommend this plant to seasoned hobbyists who have had prior/extensive experience keeping aquatic plants as they would be more apt at maintaining this demanding plant who might easily be affected by changes made in your tank. For the best results, we recommend planting the Cuphea Annagalloidea in an aquarium with its preferred parameteres. This would include a temperature range between 70-87F. A stable aquarium paired with high enough CO2 injections and high lighting will help with overall growth and health.
