A 1.5 HP motor powers the triple-planetary high torque transmission at either 175 RPM or 300 RPM, whichever is best suited for your application.  To control what speed you want the floor machine set at flip the switch located on the motor mount to easily adjust it.

Safety is a big concern when operating large equipment like this that is why Bissell added in special safety features:
50 foot power cord has a 14/3 gauge coat on it for protection if working in a wet area.  
Current resistant dual triggers deter shock potential
Safety Interlocking switch for control with both hands
