Description: The Bellus Angel is a beautiful fish that can be found around reef drop-offs in the Indo-Pacific. Females are an iridescent, white and blue color with black striping running from the gills to the caudal fin. This fish also boasts red highlights on the dorsal and anal fins. Males are silver in color with a yellow, horizontal strip running along the body. They also display a yellow dorsal fin with blue highlights on their other fins. This is a peaceful Genicanthus sp. that does best in a harem with one male and multiple females or as a bonded pair. This fish is considered one of the more "reef-safe" angels, but it is still advised to practice CAUTION when adding this fish into a reef tank. Keep this fish well-fed (2-3 times a day) to deter its behavior of nipping at corals. Utilizing a protein skimmer and UV sterilizer is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED as angelfish are prone to ectoparasites and disease. Feed a varied diet of Vit C soaked pellets, meaty frozen foods, and seaweed. Do not mix with other Genicanthus sp.
