Northern Goshawk was our second collaboration brewed with Kyle from Horus Aged Ales back in 2019 in which we put our spin on his renowned coffee/ hazelnut imperial stout, Goshawk's Grasp. We recognized that only time & patience would allow us to achieve the ultimate version of this collaboration with our West-Coast friends. After 11 months in bourbon barrels, we present Barre;-Aged Northern Goshawk.
Pouring a deep brown color with a caramel-tinged head, nutty aromas waft out of the glass with delicate bourbon on the nose in this truly decadent sipping stout. Barrel-Aged Northern Goshawk drinks smooth with notes of milk chocolate-covered hazelnuts, freshly roasted coffee, molasses, and brown sugar. Bourbon barrel aging adds notes of vanilla & roasted caramel with a sweetness-taming smoothness to the rich hazelnut, coffee-forward base.
