This 2022 Poggio Manfredi Toscana Rosso is a bold and delicious red blend from the Tuscany IGT. Expect well-balanced flavors and aromas of red fruit, along with a savory and spicy note. Made from a blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Sangiovese, this wine is known as a “Super Tuscan,” in which international grapes (Merlot) are blended with grapes native to the region (Sangiovese). This helps balance the wine’s flavors between the fruit notes of Merlot and the intensely savory characteristics of Sangiovese. In addition, this wine was aged in oak for 20 months and in the bottle for 4 months, helping to soften the flavors and increase richness.
