World Vision Mali recruit for the following position (1):

TITLE: Network & Telecommunication Administrator

Locality : Centre de Service de Bamako

Contract type: Local

Report to: IT Manager

Supervise: None

DESIGN/DEVELOP:

s Works with client teams to gather requirements.

s Analyzes and documents requirements, with assistance.

Contribution to requirements for Network/Telecom solutions that meet the needs of the business.

DEPLOYMENT:

s Assists in the deployment of new, modified or enhanced system hardware and software components or services.

Successful deployment of system hardware and software components or services.

ADMINISTRATION:

s Installs, configures and maintains system hardware and software components.

s Implements predetermined software or hardware changes to rectify any issues.

s Maintains local internet, remote access, VPNs, and connectivity protocols.

s Establishes user profiles, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.

Network/Telecom system hardware and software components meet the needs of the business.

Network/Telecom system hardware and software maintained to provide the highest level of availability and performance to users.

TELECOM:

s Installs, configures and maintains system hardware and software components.

s May analyze and resolve issues related to facilities bandwidth requirements, capacity planning, and analyzes system interdependencies.

s Monitors installed equipment.

Telecom system hardware and software components meet the needs of the business.

Telecom system hardware and software maintained to provide the highest level of availability and performance to users.

AUDIO & VIDEO CONFERENCING:

s Participates in the set-up and conducts point-to-point audio or video conferencing for meetings, sharing of documents, computer displayed information and whiteboard.

Audio & Video conferencing services meet the needs of the user.

FCAPS MANAGEMENT (Fault, Configuration, Accounting Performance, and Security):

s Monitors network/telecommunications activity and logs problems.

s Monitors facilities bandwidth requirements and schedules requests for bandwidth.

s Adjusts bandwidth on a daily or weekly basis.

s Assesses network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the business.

Network/Telecom systems performance meets the needs of the business.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT:

s Provides support for connectivity or related network/ communication issues for the user community.

s Provides responsive support for problems found during normal working hours as well as outside normal working hours.

Issues resolved in a timely manner.

PRODUCTION SUPPORT:

s Provides Level 2 support.

s Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves diagnoses common problems.

s Documents problems and resolutions for future reference.

Issues diagnosed and resolved with minimal disruption in service to users.

POLICIES, PROCESSES, & STANDARDS:

s Adheres to policies, processes and standards.

Compliance to established policies, processes and standards.

BUSINESS CONTINUITY:

s Assists in executing site specific disaster recovery plans.

Can test and execute specific disaster recovery plan, when required.

SECURITY:

s Implements security procedures.

Compliance to security procedures to ensure Network/Telecom systems are secure.

VENDOR MANAGEMENT:

s May work with vendors to resolve network / Telecommunications problems.

s May assist in reviewing invoices.

Problems resolved quickly and vendor invoices are accurate for services provided.

RESEARCH/EVALUATION:

s Gathers and records data on specified vendors’ products against defined requirements.

Data available for analysis of vendor’s products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
List education, knowledge & skills, licenses preferred, and all experiences required to perform this position in a fully competent manner.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Requirements to Qualify for the Position:

List academic, technical skills or other knowledge required as a minimum qualification for this position.

1. Associate’s degree or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

List additional work experience required as a minimum qualification for this position.

1. Typically requires 1-3 years of relevant IT work experience.

2. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary.
